The LSA module is called EAGLE (Enhanced Automated Graphical Logistics Environment).
EAGLE is a software tool that enables you to carry out the LSA process and record your activities formally in a set of data tables know as the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR).

EAGLE currently supports the following LSAR standards:

U.S. standard MIL-STD-1388-2B
European Standard Def Stan 00-60
GEIA-0007

EAGLE goes beyond the specifications by adding engineering drawings, technical content, video support, integration with Arbortext CSBD for S1000D and other functions. Current 1388-2A, 1388-2B, 00-60 Issue 1, 00-60 Issue 3 and 00-60 Issue 4 databases can easily be migrated to the EAGLE structure.

The EAGLE Publishing system enables fast and efficient creation of technical documentation in MIL-STD-40051 format, which can then be viewed in the IADS viewer. The system allows users to:

Create work packages based on LSAR Tasks
Supports all MIL-STD-40051 work package types
Allows viewing of work packages in table of contents format (Figure 5)
Views work packages in IADS or PDF format (Figure 6)
Publishes complete manual for import into IADS
Tracks and reports percent complete metrics
Configuration management of publication work flow

EAGLE holds the LSAR for projects and details the options considered, decisions taken and supporting justification that leads to the optimized product support policy (Figure 2). It also provides the source data for the individual ILS disciplines to fully define the resources required and ultimately deliver them into service as part of the overall product support program.

The EAGLE Logistics Toolset enables fast and efficient creation of technical documentation using a combination of unique software features and business processes developed from 20 years of industry experience and augmented by feedback from our large, varied customer base.

Our technical publications module is called Arbortext CSDB for S1000D. Arbortext CSDB for S1000D functions as the Common Source Database (CSDB) and is the focal point of all technical publications activity.

Arbortext CSDB for S1000D Control Station
The Control Station is the desktop application used to create, set up and manage complete CSDB projects. Typically this is used by technical publication project leaders, team leaders and CSDB managers for the day to day management of the complete technical publications acquisition and production process.

The Control Station permits certain administrative processes restricted to project leaders or administrators. Some of the functions are:

Create and manage CSDB projects
Define business rules
Customize the Standard Numbering System (SNS) and information code library
Create and control user access
Allocate workflow
Create and delete CSDB assets
Import and export data

Through the use of intuitive wizards, Arbortext CSBD for S1000D makes the S1000D process as seamless and user friendly as possible. Therefore, compliance with often complicated processes and delivery formats is automated by the software.

The Arbortext Publisher is the interface that the technical publications manager uses to transform discrete modules of data into complete publications. Publishing Station is a true single source publishing solution for your data.

The Arbortext Publisher is used to allocate DMRL resources (data modules) to publica- tion modules. These publication modules are then grouped together to form the IETP. Each data module code, issue number and QA status is tracked and recorded against the issue and revision of the publication module.

Once the data is organized, creating a publication is simple. A final QA is carried out before publishing to ensure that the data modules are ready to be delivered. It detects problems such as errors in XML parsing or invalid references and informs the user of any discrepancies. When the data parses cleanly, the publication can be extracted with a single click of the mouse.

The EAGLE Logistics Toolset is currently used to produce a wide variety of publications, including software manuals, maintenance manuals, aircrew manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, and many others. In addition, our stylesheets are open source XSL-FO and can be tailored to meet customer requirements. The final output can be in the form of:

Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) for laptop or PDA devices
PDF files for paper publications.

Learning content and technical documentation content have historically been created separately. While it has been recognized that a high degree of commonality existed betweenthe two, the supporting standards and content management tools did not address this issue. With ILog you can merge S1000D content management principles with SCORM reusability and rich-media concepts to deliver a fully integrated content management solution, enabling seamless reuse of content between technical documentation and training.

SCORM Components
The ILog SCORM components consist of the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and the Learning Management System (LMS). The LCMS provides the course structure and sequencing information and maintains the relationship between the List of Materials (LOM), the various assets, and SCOs in the CSDB. The LMS enables you to deploy your CBT assets (courses) in the field via a Web server. The LMS also tracks a student’s progress through your courseware.

The Arbortext Parts Catalog Manager enables the creation, delivery, receipt and review of Initial Provisioning data in accordance with ASD 2000M, Def Stan 00-60 ISSP EDI requirements and ATA S2000. A pragmatic, process driven user interface allows the most cost-effective method of data acquisition and compilation. This application can be tailored to suit the compilation rules of each project.

The EAGLE Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) is a software tool specifically designed to enable successful execution of PBL contracts. MMIS provides the process visibility and data transparency that today’s PBL customers demand. With easy, secure access to data over the Internet, all customer personnel can access equipment status, repair status, and generate reports with nothing other than a browser. As a result, vital information is not only available from PCs in the office but from PDAs and Web enabled cell phones in the field! Data can be entered and retrieved over the Internet, and reports are generated from live, current data.

MMIS provides online status and history to authorized users for virtually all program data. The major features are:
